Brexiteer blasts Remoaners who wish for recession so they can ‘be proved right’ on Brexit

LEAVE MEANS LEAVE Co-chair Richard Tice blasted Lib-Dem leader Sir Vince Cable and other Remoaners “wanting a recession” to confirm their Brexit ‘Project Fear predictions.

Businessman Richard Tice carpeted Remain supporters for trying to paint a negative picture of Brexit.

“You know we had Project Fear which was saying that the world was going to end in the UK.”

Speaking to LBC, Tice said that the recession forecast made by Remainers such as Lib-Dem leader Sir Vince Cable on the effects of Brexit on the UK economy was “incoherent” and “unpatriotic.”

“We’ve got employment numbers at record highs, we’ve got unemployment almost at record lows, we’ve had almost record foreign direct investment in the last twelve months.”

“We’ve got companies like BMW launching their new electric car, we’ve got Land Rover investing more in the UK, we’ve got Amazon creating lots more jobs. There’s so much good news.”

The Leave means Leave Co-chair explained that people needed motivation in the face of Brexit rather than people “talking down the economy” to prove themselves right about the negativity of leaving the European Union.

“What you need to be doing is to motivate people, encouraging consumers to carry on because people still got jobs, businesses are still investing.”

Speaking about Cable, Tice said: “He’s beginning to sound a bit like Victor Meldrew, the Tv character from One Foot in the Grave with his ramblings.”

Tice was commenting on recent comments made by the Lib-Dem leader who claimed young people had been “shafted” by older voters who supported voters.

Writing in the Mail on Sunday, Cable claimed that the older generation had made a life-changing decision because of nostalgic views without considering the effects leaving the EU would have on younger Britons.

“The old have had the last word about Brexit, imposing a world view coloured by nostalgia for an imperial past on a younger generation more comfortable with modern Europe.”
