Commenting on the Prime Minister’s decision to hold a general election on June 8th, John Longworth, Co-Chair of Leave Means Leave said:

“Despite a clear victory for Leave in the referendum last year, Liberal Democrat, most Labour and a minority of Conservative MPs have done everything they can to stand in the way of the Government delivering on Brexit.

An overwhelming majority of parliamentary constituencies voted to leave but this has been ignored by too many in the House of Commons. Those who have obstructed Brexit are deeply unpatriotic and we hope that this is reflected at the ballot box.

“The Prime Minister has made the sensible decision to go to the country.

“Leave Means Leave will be supporting those candidates who believe in a clean, swift Brexit and in delivering the will of the people, to ensure they are returned to the House of Commons.”
