Responding to the CBI manifesto request to avoid ‘no deal’ in Britain’s negotiations with the EU, John Longworth, Co-Chair of Leave Means Leave said:

“For an organisation that claims to represent business, the CBI shows an extraordinary lack of basic negotiating skills.

“The idea that Britain should go into these negotiations without being prepared to walk away is completely absurd.

“I am not entirely convinced the CBI are representative of the British business community. We have no idea how many full members they actually have – the figure is more closely guarded than the nuclear codes.

“Most business leaders I have spoken to are supportive of a ‘no deal is better than a bad deal’ approach.

“If the CBI did genuinely represent the business community it would be embracing free trade and free markets, not committing to the protectionist EU.”
