Business Live: Brexit begins

John Longworth, the former head of the British Chambers of Commerce and now the co-chair of Leave Means Leave is with Dominic O’Connell at UBS this morning.

He says the view among business people he is speaking with is: “We must get on with it and make the best of it now, even those who who voted remain.”

Longworth believes the “manifest benefits” Brexit presents will “far outweigh” the negatives.

His advice to the UK’s negotiating team is: “We must leave the single market and the customs union to crystalise the benefits of leaving the EU.”
