Brexiteers will win in the end
The scale of betrayal in this sad story has descended to further depths. Theresa May and the Conservatives would now rather deal with a Marxist than honour their promise to take Britain out of the European Union. They are destroying trust in both their party and democracy as a whole.
Leave Means Leave is a cross-party campaign lobbying group and is neither a political party nor a members association. We are committed to pushing the case for a WTO Brexit, believing that Britain’s best days lie ahead of us as an independent, globally–trading nation. We are not, however, nor do we intend to be, an organisation which competes in elections at any level.
Any further extension to Article 50 would mean that European Parliamentary elections would be almost certain to take place in the UK on 23 May. To the extent (if at all) that the rules under the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 relating to donations and loans during a pre-election period apply to Leave Means Leave, it intends to suspend its activities between now and 23 May. But you may have heard that there is a new pro-Brexit political party, ‘The Brexit Party’, being led by Nigel Farage. If you are interested in them then please contact their website (www.thebrexitparty.org) for details of their activities, events, rallies etc.
There is still everything to play for. The night is darkest before the dawn and we will prevail in the end.
