Responding to comments made this morning by Donald Tusk, Jean-Claude Juncker and Guy Verhofstadt, Richard Tice, Co-Chair of Leave Means Leave said:
“Donald Tusk and Jean-Claude Juncker need to accept that Britain is a democracy – something the EU knows very little about. The British people voted to leave the EU and this decision will not be reversed, despite their best efforts.
“If the EU negotiating position is as Mr Verhofstadt sets out – that the UK will only get a deal on services if we accept the free movement of people – this would be unacceptable to Brexit voters. In this case, free trade talks should stop and the UK should confirm it will move to a WTO deal with the EU. This will mean no transition period and no extra money for the EU.
